Many of our autocross events are held at the Brooksville-Tampa Regional Airport (formerly Hernando County Airport) near Brooksville. This is a restricted access site, you MUST be pre-registered to be allowed on site. You must also arrive at the specified time, or you will not get in the gate! Access to the site is via Runway Drive off of US 41. Note that this may seem like a long drive, but if you’re near the expressway, you can get there in about 45 minutes from downtown Tampa. It is worth the drive!
We also do events at the Marion County Airport (between Dunnellon and Ocala. This is a restricted access site, you MUST be pre-registered to be allowed on site. You must also arrive at the specified time, or you will not get in the gate! Access to the site is via SW 147th Court off of CR-484. This one is a bit of a drive from the Tampa/St. Pete area, but still only about 90 minutes from downtown Tampa, and about 60 minutes from Brooksville. It is similar to Brooksville, but asphalt rather than concrete. It presents a different set of challenges for the driver, and is a lot of fun!
We occasionally hold events at Tampa Greyhound Track facility. We use their South Lot, which is on the South side of Bird Street just East of I-275. Easy access from I-275 from the Bird Street Exit (if you’re coming from the South) or the Busch Blvd Exit (from the North). This is our only “family friendly” autocross site. There is a nice park with picnic tables near the river, and even a public pool right there. Close enough to see and hear the action, just be sure they stay outside the barriers if they are under 16.
