FAST Monday - 15 June 2020

It's a toss-up. younger brother (63) spent a week in the hospital in NYC, on oxygen. No surprise, his wife tested positive but had zero symptoms.

with Falken coming out with a 245/40/15 and you having those 15x8s, I'd give STH a shot since it doesn't seem like you should have to make that many changes to the wagon. I think STH is mostly wide open, most people don't seem to stick long enough to run their turbo hot hatch for a long time due to...

In the future, I may be subject to SCCA rules and will have to decide between de-tuning my suspension to be STH compliant or say yolo and go into classes that allow R comp or below 200tw. I've noticed some of the more affordable options like Toyo, Nankang ns2r, Federal FZ 201, others? So what about...

I do appreciate the insights here. Yeah, I fall into the "have fun on weekends" category, so the care and feeding of race tires is probably too much for me, for the $. I'm slowly thinking through what I might want to change for STH to stay on street tires. Jamie's Extreme Street rec sounds like more...

Self Isolation in the Garage - Post Your Car Projects

Got both of them to seat, 2nd one about an hour ago. Sanded the chipped paint area first, that might help get ut started. Used a piece of conduit pipe (over the shaft, with a piece of plastic to protect the top of the strut body). Along with wedging the sleeve channel, plastic hammer 'taps' on the c...

Self Isolation in the Garage - Post Your Car Projects

Finally decided to replace my front struts. Koni yellows were on sale for around 160 each. Install has been slow going. The body diameter of Konis is ever so slightly larger than stock, making the process of seating into the knuckle sleeve a bit tedious. Got one side to finally slip in, but fatigue ...

Self Isolation in the Garage - Post Your Car Projects

Got bored. Really bored. Saw a great deal on a rear bar. Now have a solid adjustable 22mm bar vs a hollow non adjustable 22mm bar. It's set to softest setting and is still noticeably stiffer. Also replaced my oe filter with a pro dry s filter I had laying around. Bought a real fancy 2” wide hook and...

I think car would be street modified.... SCCA recently created a set of rules that's essentially SM on street tires: https://www.scca.com/articles/2013398-new-class-released-for-scca-solo-competition. Makes it even easier to keep tires as is, and see where you want to go from there. thanks, I'll ch...

Even then, is the car prepped to take advantage of them? Were it me, I'd run the car in whatever class it falls (FSP?) for several events, subtract a second or so from your time, and see how that stacks up against the competition and on the index...then decide where you want to spend your money. I ...

thanks We're getting 100 to 120 runs on re71r. Found a post referencing 66 runs on a Mustang plus some track time for Hoosier A7. Some of the cheaper options are comparable to 205 re71r in price, but fewer runs bump the cost. also saw a thread suggesting a .975 pax adjustment for 200tw vs race, whic...
