Mirage - Still lifting a front tire

One of my low priority experiments is to see how difficult it is to disconnect the rear bar at the end links and zip-tie it out of the way, then replace its tension with a stiffer bump spring. Sounds like your problem is solved, but maybe another area of flexibility. not even Uncle Steve can make it...

Mirage - Still lifting a front tire

not even Uncle Steve can make it happen.

Not sure why it's that way...but it has independent rear suspension these days, maybe that helps? I think I have a lot more droop as well.

Mirage - Still lifting a front tire

I have the bump spring setup and it definitely can change the balance and can be adjusted with ease. I went into the concept wanting something that could be 'turned on' for events and turned off for the street. The spring is not loaded but has about an inch of travel before it becomes loaded. The tr...

1/6/19 - Bonus Event in the Bag

this could have been a great event for me to practice 'how to react to snap oversteer', but...since I didn't think of that in advance, missed opportunity. Steve clearly likes a looser car than I do :) Course work was good, mainly because I lucked out and drew station 3. Other than keeping an eye on ...

Mirage - Still lifting a front tire

Thanks for posting the detail. it motivates me to finally take a crack at measuring things out and modeling. it doesn't sound like you'll do it, but I've kicked around the offset bushing idea and I wonder if it really does help with roll center. Does modeling allow one to capture it? It might increa...

Mirage - Still lifting a front tire

Soooo... playing with compromises on some of the easier things to do: If I were to raise the ride height by 1", go with a 205/50-16 tire on a 35mm offset 16x7.5" wheel, and fit a 0.5" taller ball joint... my roll center would go from 1.7" to 4.1". No cutting or fabrication required. Just a pair of ...

Dec 16th Long afternoon shadows M4 had the Blues. Amen

We do have RS-RR and for my size, can be had for $335 on ebay today. We caught a coupon which put them slightly under $300. RE-71R run about $500 for a set. Joe B posted a review on our site, by Danny Kao comparing them to RE-71r and Rival S. IIRC the Feds were about a second slower compared to the ...

I finished last in the M4 'blue wave' but the course was good slalom practice for me which I definitely need. Soroya :respect: Mike R :welcome back: Loren and Dan :stop shaming us: :) Got to work station 3 for the last run group. Impressive driving by many around that walled right-hander before the ...

Since I have a habit of blowing a second in the turnaround (as well as you having a passenger), a 37 flat or less might have been possible.

Would be fun to have Philip drive a couple wagon runs :)

Mirage - Complete Rear Seat Delete

Well done. My back seat supposedly weighs 60lbs. Been thinking about it...

Have you removed your speakers?

Does your car even have speakers?

I rarely listen to music and thinking speakers be replaced with something easily detachable for events.

Nov 17th is time for iced cake. Mayor's BD Eve

that was a fun course! as noted, I made some changes to the front of my car that made the front stick a little more than before, especially on lift. Steve dealt with it better than I did but hey it was still fun...just not good for points or brag :) was very impressed how smooth things went with lar...

Brake pad suggestions

I think it depends on what you're used to / what you like. If it were me and I liked the feel of the stock pad for everyday, I'd stick with it. My limited experience with 2 German cars has been very good stock pads but plenty of dust. Tried a ceramic (Akebono)...they gave far less dust but the brake...

Loved the dog track change of pace but then... the curbs and unexpected guests.

Another event where my best run was my smoothest.

Thanks to all who made this a fun one
