The Massive Evo That Couldn't

I guess maybe you could spread the arms of the U out by 5mm. Sort of depends on what it fits around and what kind of tolerance is there. Joe does have a hydraulic press. I would expect you'd have to wedge something in there to spread the arms apart, and then press them back together with something o...

The Massive Evo That Couldn't

Wait... soooo... they sold you a part that's longer, but it doesn't fit your car? Couldn't you have just modified the one that you already had? I mean, if you have to modify, anyway? Making that shaft longer actually looks like it would be easier than remaking the U part wider. Get a piece of tube w...

2019 Rule Change Ideas

Without looking too deep into the results, it looks like Dan is 2-3 seconds off of the top of S4 (which, itself isn't where it should be... even with Philip, because Philip would be EVEN FASTER in a properly prepared S4 car vs. his car with crap suspension and an open diff). And if you ask Philip (w...

I blame Rob and people like him for inspiring me to do lots of dumb things in recent years. Stuff that I'd have never dreamed of doing before. Cool stuff.

Thanks, Rob!

the base model Fiesta (which SCCA says shouldn't be allowed to autocross in stock form, anyway) or the Mirage (same thing). Why is that? Too top heavy for their small wheelbase? Yes. Width vs. Height is out of whack. We saw it in action with my Mirage. Scary stuff. How did Dan's times compare to Ro...

2015 Sonata, and 2017 Camry V6 Realizing, of course, that either of those cars can be made to run as fast as Dan's car with a big front sway bar and tires. May as well take the simpler route and make S5 = HS at that point. Implying that Dan's Mazda 3S is as fast as... a Fiesta ST or a Mini Cooper S...

Slight tangent, but if you've got a brand new unmounted set of 225 tires in your garage that you got a great price on... you could surely sell them to somebody and pursue a different path. Great feedback, Dan. Thanks! And here's the problem with classing, class limitations, tire limits, and everythi...

Just installed the little brass O2 sensor extender pictured above. Reset the P0420 code. So far, it's still off... we shall see.

Die, dead horse, die! :whip: Okay, so I was just looking at registration for the next event. We have a couple of newbs who registered in FN for no apparent reason. (didn't want to look into classing rules, so it seems) 2015 Sonata, and 2017 Camry V6. My first thought was "cool, these are potential S...

What about a PAX Class? - Revisited

We already do a PAX FTD. And... you either want a PAX class, or you don't. If you want the shirt... you're asking for the class! The only real downside is that it does take competitors from other classes. But, honestly, not very many. And one of the arguments I keep hearing is that "noobs in slow ca...

Fairly simple course this time. Might require just a little bit of thought to get it right, though.

Nah, a 90% correct course map is still better than no map. We very rarely deviate that much from the map. Those new radios DID kick ass! In fact, I just ordered 10 more. Our Motorola FRS radios are now officially spares. Even the new Motorolas flat out suck compared to the sound quality and volume o...

You don't worry about that in M0 or race tire class As Steve noted, we've been all over the map with Race Tire classes before ending up with one class. And it's not a very subscribed class, but there's nothing else we can do with that one. And M0, we DID restructure a year or two ago specifically t...

If we did a PAX class, You guys would register in that class, and we'd try to run you together just like we try to run other classes together. (you've still got the early/late thing... but, that's something you can work out with the folks in your class) The competition would be as strong and fun as ...
