Painting a Miata

Considering the amount of work you did on this car it looks really good. ALL that you have described are why I will never paint a car again unless it's with rattle cans flat black or with some of that power wash off crap. Hopefully you have a gravity feed spray gun. I had to use an old siphon design...

Aug 10, a Sunny day in Venice

Ah true you'd have to compete with Philip for the championship, never mind lol. Philip cannot keep his car running and AKA "Farm Truck" in a real stock race car is kind of dirty. Just let him co-drive the REVO. You guys crack me up. FTD = Foolish Turd Display. (You are all shitting yourselves.) Gue...

p.s I welcome all the AWD comments, especially from the Mayor . Well. I haven't watched very many of your old races but you were always jerky as a light switch. This time you were very smooth and utilized actual steering and braking in a straight line. If you stay this smooth in the dry you will be...

Remember Toyo T1-R's?

Still the coolest mirage I’ve seen Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk +1 with Ken there. Sometimes I go to get a cheapo oil change in the Port Richey Ford next to their Mitsubishi Shop. I have to shield my eyes from the ugly coming off that lot. Even tho' I think the Prius are even uglier with thei...

Remember Toyo T1-R's?

I ran a set of Proxies T1 Sports on the C5 a few years ago. Got the C5 stock sizes (same as your pickup) from a local George's Tire for $650 installed (nearly 1/2 price of most tires). Tire Rack has only one 19" size now. They were really good all around tires rain or shine xcross/hwy. They used to ...

If you really, really give a crap and want to force them to add these things, they probably would. or put them in R1. I don't think Andrew and Aaron really care which class they are in. I suspect Doug doesn't care as much as it sounds like he does. He's a conspicuous pot stirrer. Since I said nothi...

BTW. At "Classic events" no one really cares who wins what. Most guys are jumping from car to car making times jump all over the place with the same number. Technically someone driving a Crown Vic could use their same number in an MO or R1 car and get FTD.

These are the discussions that should've happened last month regarding rule changes... Sorry, the pix didn't come out until August and I wasn't at that event. You guys aren't the first. Some guy came out with a stripped RX8 once last year that he actually drove to the event as had lights. There hav...

the firewall still has a miata vin, so its a miata in my book :thumbwink: And you will vote for this man too. College graduate. Max donation $20.20. Yes he's pretty nuts here in Hernando County. Only lives two blocks away. SS = Suicide Squad in MO now. Should be an "X" class for these things that a...

Sorry we can't make hot August events that are far away in the morning. So what's with MO (SS, AS) on street tires? Can I buy a shifter cart and run MO now on 140 lawn mower tires? I'll wear closed toed shoes and so will my guest. FTD is a piece of cake now it seems!!

Cooling fan "fireside" chat...

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/der-16749/reviews/ Matt I looked into this today while you are racing. Summit Racing sells those Spal fans so I read a few reviews. They can pull a lot of continuous amps which will melt wires and controllers. I found two guys had the same issue. "Short in the base...

Cooling fan "fireside" chat...

Would be a simple matter to hot wire each fan to see if the motors are still good. Not quite sure why that is a 30amp relay? Lot of juice for small motors and lights. Wonder if a PO messed with something for a stereo amp? I found a 60A fused connection coming off my + lead for a removed stereo once....

Cooling fan "fireside" chat...

So I have struggled with these fans since the harness started melting at the relay. Now the fans won't run unless I put a jumper wire between the power and the fan wire. So either the relay I bought a few weeks back is bad, or I'm wiring it wrong. There must be an internal short in the relay to get...
