Bluesight lives for another day. Drop the CVT, replace the flywheel, and put it back together...it was so easy (NOT)...

Just an image or two of what can go wrong...B

Mar 9th Cleaned your clocks and reset cones is over.

Doing the in-depth analysis (ha!)...first leg is the problem (not so much the turn around)...Loren - ~15 sec, Mike - ~16, Turn around - looks like ~11 sec for both (to start of upper slalom), Down leg - looks like ~15 sec for both. I'm not great at speedy starts. Otherwise, it's spread out as is typ...

OK...Here's the video [Vid=https://vimeo.com/322630648][/Vid] Please note that the final time is supposed to be 42.558...video editing is a hassle... And Loren was warning me not to throw the poor Mirage around. I'm looking at his video...and who's throwing it around...OK...maybe it has something to...

Status update...Insight is still definitely broken, but there actually might be a "quick" fix. But having it ready for the 9th is a long shot. In the meantime, thanks to Tim (vtbandit - morning) and Loren (afternoon) for setting up a full day of crazy fun. Looking forward to it...

Not sure if I will be this lucky, but thank goodness for the Web and the Insight folks that use it. There may be a relatively easy fix to the Bluesight problem. I'll find out more hopefully tomorrow. And I'm not sure that the fix is quite so easy and quick that I can do it in the next week or so. Bu...

So little time for so many options. At the moment, I'm trying to find a FL home for it...either as a rolling shell or for conversion...or a CVT/drivetrain repairable Insight for daily driving, or maybe back to racing. Finding a way to haul back to WI at the end of March is second option. Trying to d...

I think I've decided to haul it back to WI and take the good parts off this one and stick them on my grey version up there (or swap the 'train from the grey to the blue...I do like the blue). I've put more into the Bluesight than it will ever be worth...but what's new with that to an autocrosser...?...

As of a few hours ago, the CVT on Bluesight is longer C, V or T'ing. I may be looking for a co-drive. I have use of wheels/RE71R tires (205-50-15) that fit an NB (or earlier) Miata to offer. I'm in a '99 Miata up north...just sayin'...

I'm currently reg'd for all day, but that can be changed...

After 200K+ miles and hundreds of jack-rabbit starts, it's RIP Bluesight (the car). The CVT belt(s) (finally) gave out...not really unexpected, but sad nonetheless. Luckily, just 5 miles from my Sarasota abode. So, it's an open question about what will happen next. I may be looking for some co-drive...

Dec 16th Long afternoon shadows M4 had the Blues. Amen

How soon one forgets! This was my "fastest" time, but coned. I didn't think I did it...but there were plenty of opportunities...most likely the last cone of the returning slalom. What I forgot about was being smooth. And then there was getting behind on the endless slalom. With new tires, and the mo...

3 weeks?? I just came out of 8 months! It's taken a couple weeks to recover...low 12V and hybrid batteries (hopefully all charged now), a clogged idle air control valve (constant P0505 codes), and misc other issues. But I'm ready (maybe)...crud cleaned off and a new set of tires. Now I just need to ...
