Also, if anyone knows of anyone local scraping an NB, please meet me know. Trying to get my hands on a few things.

Most importantly a hood.

"Locally", as in the Tampa Bay area, they don't come up often. Your best bet is to throw the net a bit wider...Redline has three hoods out in Orlando, which is probably the nearest. The guys there are pretty helpful, too -- when I picked up one from them last year, they were ready to help me install it on the car right there in the parking lot. That would have been great if I'd had the car with me, but a Miata hood does fit inside a pickup or an SUV, or they ship. Gives you options. http://www.redlineautoparts.com/search- ... ata%20hood

Noses -- the plastic front bumper cover -- are even harder to come by intact. I ended up having to buy a new one through Mazda Motorsports, but check Redline (they have a couple -- http://www.redlineautoparts.com/search- ... er%20cover !), Treasure Coast Miata, and The Parts Group. All are good places for used Miata parts in Florida.

Put up a list of what you're looking for.

Finally had some time to work on the miata thanks to the long weekend.

Managed to drill out the pop rivets on the mangled bumper retainer and saved the front bumper. I can get a replacement for that should be good. Will just have to do use the heat gun to do some reshaping where the retainer goes then some sanding/filling in a couple spots on the bumper to clean it up.

Next up I drilled out the spot welds on the upper radiator support and got that removed (pics 1). Another easy replacement.

Everything else under the hood looks straight.

So once I get the replacement upper radiator support installed it's just cosmetic stuff.

Making progress.

Spent last weekend with Caleb and Scott getting the replacement radiator support installed thanks to some skills from Caleb's dad as well. After a bunch of heat, hammering, prying and welding we go things pretty damn straight and put back together. From an untrained eye it might even look like it was never touched.

I have all other parts in the garage to put it back together, last piece I need to find is a hood that won't cost me an arm and a leg.

I also sourced a set of used 15x8 Advanti S1 wheels to go with it. Getting close!

I just bought a set of used seats from this guy...spoke to him on the phone, and he says he's up in Lecanto now, rather than NPR, but he ships for free.

Whatever you do, just don't buy an aftermarket steel hood. Yes, they make them. Yes, they are ridiculously heavy.

Sweet, thanks. I've found a few on FB groups as well for cheap, just holding out for a black on at that price haha.

For some reason, I was thinking your car was Emerald Green. But not sure I'd wait around for a hood exactly the right color, as it could be a long wait. I went through the same dance, and ended up buying a yellow hood...had the edges shot in black so it wasn't obvious, and most people think I put a yellow wedge on a black hood.

More progress over the weekend. Got the front end put back together and fitment is pretty much dead on. Our repairs to the rad support and such were basically perfect.

I think I will pick up a couple of these quick latches for the sides of the bumper where it attaches to the body. I don't like the gap and these should help pull everthing in better. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0160TO4KQ/?c ... _lig_dp_it

I'll repair the paint/hole in the front bumper once it passes inspection and I get a rebuilt title so I know it's worth the trouble.

I also freed up about 10lbs of weight from leaves, sticks and dirt that had collected in the fenders lol

And last update for now, thanks to Caleb, who came across a CL ad for a silver hood local to him. He went and checked it out and besides a couple paint bubbles at the edge, the hood is in great shape. All for the low low price of $80!!! I'll probably just wrap it with vinyl.

Snagged myself a great deal on a new to me black rear bumper in excellent condition. My bumper has like three holes in it from previous owners hitting things. So for $60 this was a sweet pickup to replace my current one. Just need to swap over the Miata MX5 badge and polish it up with the rest of the car.

Happened across another Miata part out on Facebook today and scored a mint black hood for $80. So now I own two Miata hoods haha. At least this one matches the car so that makes my life easier.

Anyone need a silver NB hood? I'll cut you a deal lol

Drove it around the neighborhood a bunch. Car is gonna be so fun.

Collecting more parts. Wanted some side view mirrors from a guy parting out since mine are pretty sun damaged even though the rest of the paint is great. Guy didn't feel like pulling everything apart so told me to come just take the doors, for free. Lol

Spare parts! Yay!
